The corrupt left seems to have hit a new low. Now, Colombian President Gustavo Petro, a proud socialist hailed by liberals everywhere, is reportedly under investigation by U.S. prosecutors for his cozy ties to drug traffickers. This is the same guy who paints himself as some sort of anti-establishment crusader. In reality, he’s just another radical leader making excuses for narco-terrorists and putting American lives at risk—in the name of “progress.”
What’s most shocking is how predictable this has become. The left’s love affair with disastrous policies is hardly news anymore. Petro’s so-called reforms only empower cartels and criminals. He refuses to crack down on the illegal drug trade, turning Colombia into a playground for cocaine kingpins. And the Biden administration can barely muster a yawn.
Let’s be honest: leftists all over the world can’t resist cheering on leaders like Petro. The globalist elite adore anyone who stands against American interests, no matter how corrupt or dangerous they are. These so-called progressives will happily turn a blind eye to mountains of cocaine flooding our streets, as long as they get to virtue signal about “social justice.” They ignore the violence, the addiction, and the chaos—while demanding open borders that help smuggle this poison into American communities.
Meanwhile, American families pay the price. Untold lives are destroyed by drugs that start their journey in countries run by socialist strongmen. The human suffering, crime, and misery don’t matter to the left. Their soft spot for criminals and anti-American thugs always comes first. Do we really think the same political class who can’t secure our own border will ever get tough with a leftist darling like Petro?
This is what happens when the people in power care more about ideology than protecting their own citizens. It’s time to wake up. Americans deserve leaders who will stand against corruption—foreign and domestic—and put our country first. Or will we keep letting the globalist left call the shots and watch as narco-socialists laugh all the way to the bank?
