Once again, Taylor Lorenz is back in the headlines, preaching to the world about how we all need to start masking up—again. Apparently, for some liberals, it’s always 2020. According to Lorenz, the pandemic never really ended, and here we are, six years in, still being lectured to about so-called “basic solidarity” and the need to cover our faces. Does anyone actually believe average Americans are still buying this nonsense?
This is exactly what happens when the left gets a taste of control—they just can’t let go. Lorenz, the forever-masked “expert,” acts like it’s some act of heroism to walk around muzzled in public. She demands everyone else fall in line too, claiming it’s all about protecting others. But at this point, it’s hard to see anything except virtue signaling and a desperate need to stay relevant.
Americans are tired. We watched politicians demand we mask our children and shutter our businesses, all while they broke the rules themselves. The ugly truth: elites like Lorenz look down from their ivory towers, still clinging to pandemic theater while the rest of us are ready to move on with our lives. The people calling for never-ending masking are the same crowd who think freedom is dangerous, and government control should be permanent.
The science has evolved, but the hype has not. Sure, there was a time for caution, but endless fear tactics are not leadership—they’re manipulation. It’s no accident that the biggest mask cheerleaders are the ones most out of touch with everyday Americans. Forcing people to perform a ritual just to signal “solidarity” is classic liberal groupthink, and it’s got nothing to do with real public health.
Maybe Lorenz and her followers enjoy living in a world of panic and control, but millions of Americans refuse to play along. At some point, you have to wonder: is this about health—or about power? For those of us who love freedom, the answer is crystal clear.
