Once again, another Democrat’s mask slips. Georgia’s Jon Ossoff has spent months wagging his finger at so-called “greedy corporations” for buying up single-family homes and pushing families out of the market. He’s cried crocodile tears about rising rents and corporate landlords. Yet right under his nose, in true liberal fashion, he’s doing the exact same thing he rails against—hiking rent on his own single-family property, gouging residents beyond reason.
Ossoff’s Atlanta home isn’t just any house. It sits in the Grant Park neighborhood, ground zero for skyrocketing housing prices and corporate real estate grabs. While everyday Georgians struggle to keep up with rent and dream about owning a home, Ossoff listed his rental for a whopping $3,800 a month—far outpacing the neighborhood average and even Zillow’s estimates. His final rent ask still landed hundreds above what anyone else pays nearby. Apparently, Ossoff has no problem squeezing families dry—so long as it’s his bank account getting fatter.
This is the same man publicly launching “investigations” into large companies he claims are making it impossible for locals to get ahead. He preaches about corporate giants destroying homeownership, while turning around and playing landlord kingpin, capitalizing on the exact market he demonizes. He’s not just part of the problem; he’s leading the charge while pretending to be the hero. Classic Democrat two-faced hypocrisy. When they’re not taking your freedoms, they’re taking your money.
Let’s not pretend this is a unique case. The Democrat Party loves to talk about fairness and “affordability”—all while getting rich off the same people they claim to protect. Atlanta’s own studies show millions in home equity stripped from residents—especially minorities—because of these investment practices. Ossoff claims to fight for these neighborhoods, but his outrageous rent hikes directly fuel the very disaster he publicizes on camera.
While working families get priced out, the liberal elite get wealthier—then demand applause for their “investigations.” Ossoff is more than a hypocrite; he’s the poster boy for leftwing double standards. Maybe instead of launching investigations, he should take a hard look in the mirror. If he really cares about Georgia families struggling to make rent, it’s time for him to put his own wallet where his mouth is. Or is that too much to ask from someone who never misses a chance to cash in on Democrat dishonesty?
