Democrats are celebrating the Department of Homeland Security shutdown like it’s some huge victory. What’s really happening? Regular Americans are standing in endless airport lines. Agents are quitting. Security at our borders and airports has never been weaker—and for what? Just so Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries can try and score points against Donald Trump? It’s laughable. If the Democratic Party couldn’t even beat Trump in the last election, why should anyone trust them to handle something as important as our national security?
While liberals scream about so-called ICE “raids,” the fact is, ICE is already funded through 2029. They’re picking a pointless fight just to hurt Trump. That’s it. Hardworking families are paying the price just so leftist politicians can throw a tantrum. This isn’t leadership; it’s embarrassing, anti-American nonsense. When Elon Musk—yes, a billionaire entrepreneur—steps up before Congress even blinks and offers to cover TSA paychecks, you know things are upside down. Trump sent ICE agents to pitch in at airports, and it worked. Where were the Democrats? At cocktail parties, pointing fingers.
Republicans know keeping DHS locked down is insane, especially with terrorist threats rising thanks to Biden’s weak foreign policies. We’ve already faced terror attacks on American soil. And with hurricane season here, FEMA is paralyzed. If a major storm hits, don’t look to the Democrats—they’re more interested in MSNBC interviews than saving lives.
Now, some GOP senators are actually fighting to find a solution. People like Katie Britt are working around the clock in talks with President Trump and other true conservatives. This group is hammering out a way to get most of DHS funded again—not surrendering, not giving in to open-border extremists, but finding a real path forward that keeps Americans safe.
Liberals are running out of moves. Their only leverage is grandstanding and fake outrage. Republicans are the adults in the room. It’s time to end this shutdown, restore security, and remind the country which party actually puts America first. If Democrats can’t stomach that truth, maybe it’s time they get out of the way.
