The butcher of Philadelphia, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, is finally gone. He spent his last days rotting in a Pennsylvania prison, having been found guilty of crimes so gruesome, most decent Americans struggled to read the details. For years, he ran an abortion clinic where innocent babies—already born, already breathing—the defenseless among us, were murdered. For this he earned a life sentence. Some called it justice, but for those precious lives lost, there can never be enough justice.
How did it come to this? The left cries “choice” louder and louder, hiding behind slogans and empty words while monsters like Gosnell work behind closed doors. The liberal establishment, obsessed with protecting abortion at all costs, looked away for too long. When the truth about Gosnell came out, their friends in mainstream media went silent. There was no parade of angry anchors or endless investigative specials. For liberals, the Gosnell case was too inconvenient—proof that their so-called compassion has real, bloody consequences.
It’s easy for the wealthy and influential to talk about women’s rights while they sip lattes in big coastal cities. But working-class Americans, who hold real family values, understand what happened in Philadelphia was evil—plain and simple. Yet the same liberal politicians who demand endless investigations every time it suits their agenda had nothing to say about babies who died at Gosnell’s hands. Left-wing talking heads like to claim they are the party of science, but they cover their eyes when the facts make them uncomfortable.
Gosnell is gone, but the broken system that let him operate for years remains. Radical abortion activists keep pushing to weaken oversight, remove parental notification, and fill the courts with judges who won’t lift a finger to protect life. The elites act shocked when someone like Gosnell is finally caught, but their permissive attitudes paved the road for him to begin with. Meanwhile, honest Americans are shouted down if they dare to defend the unborn.
Now the death of this convicted killer should serve as a wake-up call. How many more clinics run in the shadows while our so-called leaders drag their feet? How many more children have to die before we stop pretending this has nothing to do with politics? The truth is plain: America can never claim to be a beacon of freedom if we won’t defend those who can’t speak for themselves.
The media may try to memory-hole Gosnell, but conservatives won’t forget. His legacy is a stain on every politician too cowardly to stand for life. If protecting babies is “controversial,” what does that say about the America the left wants to build?
