Democrats in the Senate just slammed the door on yet another good-faith offer to get the Department of Homeland Security back to work. Americans are still dealing with a government shutdown, and Democrats want to play chicken. The latest offer would have opened nearly the entire department and given some support to Immigration and Customs Enforcement—an agency protecting us from dangerous criminals. You’d expect a responsible party to be grateful for a deal that keeps Americans safe, but not this group.
Instead, Senate Democrats want to water down ICE even more. Their so-called “counteroffer” plans to hobble our officers, the very people standing between law-abiding families and traffickers, drug cartels, and illegal aliens bent on turning our laws into a joke. Isn’t it funny how liberals talk nonstop about compassion and safety, but when it’s time to defend America, they try their hardest to sabotage law enforcement?
It’s a slap in the face to everyone who works to keep this country secure. Globalist elites and open-border fanatics love to virtue signal about “rehabilitation” and “humanity” for illegal immigrants. But when it comes to real American families hurt by crime and chaos, they don’t care one bit. It’s always about their ideological agenda, not our national security.
The hypocrisy is hard to miss. When it’s time to protect their own gated communities, Democrat politicians hire security and wall themselves off from the rest of us. But for the average citizen, they’ll proudly rip away tools from ICE and handcuff our best defense against chaos at the border. If you ask Democrats, it’s not about protecting America—it’s about checking boxes for their radical base and impressing their globalist pals.
Republicans tried to open up DHS, but Democrats won’t budge unless ICE is gutted. They would rather keep everything shut down and play politics with your safety. If these are the people in charge, who exactly is looking out for the real Americans?
