Yet again, Americans are waking up to the tragic news of an innocent young woman gunned down—not by a citizen, but by someone who shouldn’t even be here. Sheridan Gorman, just 18 years old, was walking home in Chicago, doing what any teenager should be able to do safely. But thanks to Biden’s weak policies and the Democrat obsession with “sanctuary cities,” her life was snuffed out by someone who strolled right across our border without a care in the world.
Here’s the ugly truth: if Joe Biden had actually enforced our immigration laws, Sheridan would still be alive. This isn’t a one-off tragedy, either. It’s the same heartbreaking pattern we saw with Laken Riley and many others. But try telling that to Democrat politicians and their friends in the media. Instead of holding illegal aliens accountable, they rush to make excuses, gloss over the carnage, and distract from what’s really going on. It’s always someone else’s fault—never theirs.
The rot of leftist policies runs deepest in Democrat strongholds like Chicago, where politicians bend over backwards to defend illegal aliens at the expense of American lives. Just look at how a local alderwoman responded. Instead of standing up for the victim, Sheridan, she shrugged it off with a classic blame-the-victim routine. The message? If you get shot by an illegal, maybe you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Give us a break. It’s like saying a rape victim was asking for it because of her outfit. Disgusting, but that’s the liberal playbook.
Democrats love to twist the crime statistics and push lies about who’s more likely to commit violence. But that’s missing the point. Every single violent act committed by an illegal immigrant is a crime and a tragedy that could have been prevented. When our so-called leaders ignore the border, these are the real human costs. Sheridan’s blood is on their hands.
How many more American families have to suffer so progressives can feel virtuous and keep virtue signaling? How long are we supposed to excuse the inexcusable? Democrats would rather call you a bigot than take even one ounce of responsibility for the anarchy their policies fuel. When will leaders start putting American lives first instead of bending the knee to lawbreakers and globalist interests? If protecting your own citizens makes you “controversial” in today’s America, then maybe it’s time to embrace controversy—and shut this border disaster down once and for all.
