Texas refinery blast exposes liberal war on energy while America is left in the dark

Another day, another crisis at an American oil refinery—this time in Texas, where a massive explosion and raging fire broke out at a Valero facility in Port Arthur. It’s the kind of disaster that should shake the nation awake. Instead, you can bet liberal elites will use it as another excuse to bash the energy industry, push more reckless regulations, and sabotage American energy independence.

Nobody was reported injured in the immediate chaos, thank God. That’s a miracle, considering the size of this firestorm. Local officials quickly ordered residents to shelter in place. But isn’t that what we all do now in Joe Biden’s America—shelter in place and pray things don’t get worse? Meanwhile, the actual cause of the explosion so far remains “unknown,” and you can practically hear Big Government salivating at the chance to seize even more control over the backbone of our economy.

Here’s what the left won’t tell you: America runs on oil and gas, and Texas keeps the lights on for the entire country. Instead of building pipelines and refineries safely, liberals want to strangle our energy sector with green pipe dreams and bureaucratic red tape. They do nothing but increase the risk of accidents like this by forcing outdated infrastructure to the breaking point. Then, when disaster strikes, they blame the very workers and companies they’ve been undermining for years.

This is the price of letting globalists and eco-zealots dictate energy policy from their ivory towers. They don’t care about middle-class jobs or the survival of towns like Port Arthur. Their only solution is to double down on failed green fantasies and punish anyone who dares to keep America energy independent. If they had their way, the entire country would be sitting in the dark, freezing or boiling, while foreign dictators laugh all the way to the bank.

If Americans want fewer explosions and safer communities, it’s time to stop listening to liberal bureaucrats and start empowering the energy workers and engineers who built this country in the first place. Will the left ever learn—or is their real goal to destroy American energy for good?
