California’s woke elites have outdone themselves again. When the University of Southern California planned to host a debate for the state’s next governor, it looked like business as usual. Then reality crashed in. Every candidate who qualified for the stage happened to be white. Overnight, the university decided to snuff out the event entirely. So much for open debate and fair elections—unless “diversity” boxes get checked, liberals want nothing to do with it.
This is what happens when leftists put skin color above everything else. Californians deserve to hear from their candidates, no matter their race. But today’s Democrats are so obsessed with manufactured “equity” that actual democracy gets tossed aside. What kind of political party cancels a debate because it didn’t like the color palette represented? Only the modern, radical left.
The hypocrisy could not be more obvious. Democrats and their college allies never stop telling the world how much they cherish inclusion. Yet when real people—qualified candidates with actual ideas—show up and don’t fit their racial quota, suddenly it’s “game over.” Apparently, it’s not about what you believe, but the color of your skin.
Regular Americans see through this nonsense. If these were conservative candidates, you can bet the circus would go on, and the headlines would scream “white supremacy.” But because it’s a Democratic state, their friends in academia just sweep the whole thing under the rug and pretend it’s “progress.” This isn’t progress. It’s anti-American.
When supposed champions of “democracy” are so afraid of their own process, you have to wonder: what are they really hiding? Maybe the left just can’t stand the idea of voters making up their own minds. Instead of debates, they’d rather cancel anyone who doesn’t fit the script. Welcome to California, where woke politics always comes before the people.
