America is being held hostage. Once again, Democrats in the Senate are dragging out the government shutdown, all to protect illegal immigrants and fulfill their wild dream of abolishing ICE. It’s now been over forty days, and while hardworking TSA employees keep missing paychecks and growing airport chaos puts travelers at risk, the left couldn’t care less—unless you’re a border-hopper.
Republicans offered a deal. They swallowed some ridiculous Democrat demands, like weakening immigration enforcement at hospitals and schools—places that should be safe havens, not sanctuaries for criminal aliens. But for the Democrats, it wasn’t enough. They want ICE gutted. They’re demanding even more: for agents to stop wearing masks on dangerous missions, and for judicial warrants that tie the hands of law enforcement even tighter. They can’t be bothered to send a real proposal or get serious about America’s security. Their strategy? Delay, defund, and destroy.
Let’s be honest about what’s happening here. Democrats are openly attacking ICE’s entire deportation arm. If they get their way and ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations gets defunded, America’s borders will mean nothing. Deportations—the very policy that gave Trump his mandate in 2016—would come to a dead stop. Who exactly enforces immigration law if the agency tasked with it is allowed to rot? Nobody. That’s the plan. Without ICE, illegal immigration becomes permanent and unstoppable.
Even as Republicans tried to separate out funding for the rest of DHS—TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard, Secret Service—the left refused to budge. Democrats don’t want compromise. If they can’t get amnesty for all, they’ll play chicken with national security, risk airport safety, and hurt American families, just to shield people who broke our laws. And all the while, they pretend they’re the party of working people. What a joke.
Let’s make this clear: Republicans cannot and should not cave. Conceding one more inch means admitting America’s laws don’t matter. It means letting the globalist, open borders crowd write the rules. The American people want borders that work, laws that mean something, and politicians who fight for citizens—not foreign lawbreakers. If Democrats truly cared about safety and fairness, the shutdown would be over today. Maybe that’s why they refuse any real deal. America deserves better than this pathetic, anti-American circus.
