It was something to behold when a supposedly “conservative” senator left even a CNBC host stunned with his doublespeak on immigration. Apparently, John Curtis, who is supposed to be representing Utah’s conservative values, thinks it’s smart to cozy up to Democrat talking points. This is the same seat once held by Mitt Romney — and clearly, nothing has changed. Another establishment Republican who talks a big game at home, but the minute he’s in Washington, he folds like a cheap suit.
Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security is still at a standstill thanks to Democrat obstruction, but don’t let left-wing media fool you — ICE isn’t affected at all. What’s really happening? The everyday American suffers, forced to deal with chaos in airports, while the privileged elite who run the Democratic Party act like they’re the only people who matter. Their base has become a club for the rich and overeducated — not working families who actually see the damage illegal immigration brings to their communities.
The real jaw-dropper is watching Curtis sidle up next to leftist Adam Schiff, going so far as to parrot the Democrat narrative on immigration. This is the problem with the GOP these days: Too many are more comfortable with Democrats than with their own voters. With crucial fights coming up — and Democrats itching for another round of mass amnesty if they gain ground in 2026 — Curtis has made it clear he’ll never block the open borders agenda.
It’s bad enough we have the likes of Thom Tillis, Lisa Murkowski, and Mitch McConnell always ready to join the surrender caucus. Now, Curtis is signaling that he’ll oppose conservatives every time amnesty heads to the Senate floor. So much for representing the will of the people in red states — it’s more about playing nice in DC cocktail parties than standing up for the rule of law.
Let’s cut to the chase: The conservative position is simple — *no amnesty, ever*. Anyone in the GOP who doesn’t get that doesn’t deserve to wear the Republican label. If John Curtis wants to campaign as a Democrat, he should at least be honest about it. Why elect Republicans who vote like Schumer when the country is already teetering on the edge? There’s a reason Americans are fed up with fake conservatives; maybe it’s time for these weak-kneed senators to wake up, or just get out of the way.
