Crypto Gets the Red Card—But Big Government Wins Again
Once again, left-wing politicians are tripping over themselves to “protect democracy” while actually tightening their grip on power. This week, Prime Minister Keir Starmer decided British political parties can no longer take donations in cryptocurrency. The reason? Apparently, nameless foreign boogeymen are using crypto to threaten the U.K.’s way of life. It’s the same scare tactic we hear from liberals everywhere—they’ll shut down freedom in the name of “protecting” us.
Let’s be real. The real danger to democracy doesn’t come from a few digital coins. It comes from elite politicians who love controlling how regular people can spend or donate their money. If globalists in London and Washington get their wish, every transaction will soon run through government hands—which means they can track it, tax it, and block it if they don’t like your politics.
The hypocrisy here is incredible. While the left loves to talk about embracing new technology and empowering people, they clamp down the second that technology might shift the balance of power. They don’t trust citizens to make up their own minds or choose how to support candidates. Instead, they claim “illicit finance” is lurking everywhere, just waiting to ambush British democracy. Typical liberal move—see a threat, push a ban, ignore common sense.
Meanwhile, the open borders lobby and international money interests still have plenty of ways to sway politics. But heaven forbid a hardworking individual wants to support a cause using crypto—because that, apparently, is where “foreign influence” starts. It’s almost funny, if it weren’t so pathetic.
So here’s a thought: Maybe the real “illicit finance” is the power politicians seize every time fear wins over freedom. Britain’s crackdown won’t protect democracy. It just gives more control to the same leaders who never seem to trust their own people. How long before our own leaders follow this playbook and come for every dime you send or spend?
