After Ruining Late-Night Television, Will Stephen Colbert Destroy ‘Lord of the Rings’ Next?
Hollywood just can’t keep its grubby hands off the last pure thing left in entertainment: “The Lord of the Rings.” Now, the king of smug liberal comedy himself, Stephen Colbert, wants to drag Tolkien’s masterpiece down into the mud of woke ideology. That’s right—Colbert, the same guy who made late-night unwatchable, is now cooking up his own take on Middle-earth. If you thought “The Rings of Power” was a disaster, buckle up. The train wreck’s just getting started.
Colbert’s credentials here? He once played a Hobbit cameo in “The Hobbit.” He bantered with Peter Jackson. Now he thinks he’s ready to shape Tolkien’s legacy for a fresh generation. Give me a break. This is what happens when you hand over beloved stories—not just classics, but stories that shaped ideas of courage, faith, and tradition—to the same crowd that spends their days yawning over comic-book scripts and virtue signaling on Twitter. They don’t respect the roots. They don’t care about tradition. They just want to fly their progressive flags in the Shire.
Let’s look at Colbert’s big pitch. Fourteen years after Frodo, Sam and his friends go off on some nostalgia trip for old times’ sake. But the real “star” is Sam’s daughter, Elanor, who—surprise, surprise—discovers a secret that conveniently rewrites Middle-earth’s entire history. Guess what? She’ll probably be another “girlboss” with no flaws, ten steps ahead of every male character, and absolutely ready to lecture everyone on the new, improved, politically correct version of Tolkien’s world. Because that’s what passes for “fresh storytelling” in the hollow minds of Hollywood’s elite these days.
The radical Left has already spent years trying to smear “Lord of the Rings” as racist, outdated, and offensive. These were the same folks who mocked Tolkien lovers as “right-wing extremists.” Now these globalist hacks want to finish the job—twisting the story, lecturing us on diversity, and hollowing out everything that made Middle-earth magical. They can’t create; they only destroy. It’s why every modern movie feels like a copy of a copy, coated in bland, soulless social justice syrup.
Here’s the truth: for real fans, Tolkien’s stories meant something. They offered wisdom, strength, and old-fashioned heroism—roots that run deep. The Left can’t stand that. And now Colbert, with his Hollywood buddies, wants to toss that all into the fires of Mount Doom and replace it with their half-baked, ideology-laced nonsense.
Why? Because they know if they control the stories, they control the culture. What’s next—Gandalf giving lectures on climate change? Sauron as a stand-in for Donald Trump? Don’t put it past them. Warner Bros. should save itself the embarrassment and toss this project into the fire before it even sees the light of day. Is nothing sacred anymore?
