Another American is dead because Democrats refuse to do their job. Sheridan Gorman, an 18-year-old college student, was gunned down by an illegal alien who never should have been allowed to set foot in this country, much less walk free with active warrants. Yet when House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries was asked the simplest, most obvious question—should this killer even be here?—he dodged and mumbled about “looking into it.” That isn’t leadership, it’s cowardice.
This is just another chapter in the Biden administration’s never-ending open borders tragedy. How many more innocent Americans have to die? The suspect crossed our border illegally in 2023, stayed in the U.S. with criminal charges hanging over his head, and now a young woman lies in a grave. If that isn’t evidence of utter policy failure, what is?
But the reaction from Democrats? Shameful silence. When an American is killed by an illegal alien, you hear nothing but excuses. In fact, local Chicago Democrats have gone so far as to blame the victim. They bend over backwards to defend foreign nationals—illegal ones at that—because their entire political game depends on these “new voters.” It’s not about safety. It’s about power, plain and simple.
Let’s be real: People like Hakeem Jeffries are more concerned with protecting criminals from other countries than they are with protecting their own people. The contrast speaks for itself. If ICE detains someone at the airport or dares enforce the law, the left erupts in outrage and protests. But when an American student is murdered by someone here illegally, they shrug and “look into it.”
This issue couldn’t be clearer. The answer isn’t to “look into it.” Deport the criminal. Frankly, some might argue that’s not even harsh enough—because justice seems to get lost somewhere between Democrat talking points and CNN interviews. How much longer will Americans sit by while their leaders choose criminals over their own citizens? Maybe it’s time to ask, whose country is this—ours, or theirs?
