Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are back at it again, pushing a scheme that would freeze new AI data centers in America. That’s right—the most radical voices in Congress want a full stop on one of the fastest-growing engines of our economy, all under the excuse that we need more “safeguards.” Americans should ask one simple question: Why do socialists always want to slam the brakes on progress when it threatens their grip on power?
The big government crowd is spinning their usual fairy tales. They act like workers need rescuing from scary new technology, and that the planet is just one server away from doom. This is classic liberal fearmongering. Instead of letting innovation bring jobs, opportunity, and growth, the left’s answer is always to shut it down and hand more power to government bureaucrats.
Let’s be honest: This isn’t about consumer safety or clean air. It’s about who controls America’s future. The progressive elite would rather see our brightest minds pack up for places like China, where the communist playbook rewards those who build, not those who block. While our homegrown tech talent gets strangled by new “moratorium” rules, global competitors will just keep racing ahead. The only winners in this leftist crusade are our adversaries.
And if liberals really cared about protecting workers, they’d focus on getting Americans trained up and ready for the jobs of tomorrow. Big government handouts won’t put food on the table. Opportunity, innovation, and a free market will. But of course, that’s too simple for those who’d rather scare the public and stoke division for political points.
The truth is, America doesn’t need another socialist shutdown. We need bold leadership, not cowards afraid of the future. If Bernie and AOC are so terrified of American progress, maybe they should just admit it—are they fighting for the country, or fighting for control?
