Teen executed on Chicago lakefront as city leaders make excuses parents demand real answers

The senseless murder of Sheridan Gorman, just 18 years old and in her first year of college, should have been a wakeup call for the Democrats running Chicago and the state of Illinois. Instead, the same tired excuses and empty gestures keep repeating. The city’s leadership—starting with Mayor Brandon Johnson—seems more interested in covering their own failures than standing up for innocent victims.

This wasn’t some accident. Sheridan was executed, walking with friends on Chicago’s lakefront, a place that should be safe for every teen and family. Yet, what did we get from the so-called leaders in charge? Hollow statements, weak outrage, and zero real plans to stop the crime wave that’s making Chicago a national joke. If Sheridan’s family wanted answers or even basic compassion, they sure didn’t get it from Mayor Johnson. His response was so pathetic, it almost seemed like an insult.

Here’s the ugly truth the left doesn’t want to hear: Progressive policies have turned Chicago into a war zone. The criminals run the streets. Law-abiding Americans pay the price. The so-called solutions from Democrats are always the same—blame everything but themselves, deflect, and pretend like attacking police or loosening the laws has nothing to do with rising violence. It’s classic liberal hypocrisy. They preach about justice and community, but the only thing they protect is their own power.

People are sick of watching innocent kids like Sheridan get sacrificed on the altar of “reform.” Why should any family trust these career politicians who treat every tragedy as a photo op? Johnson’s empty words should outrage every single parent, student, and taxpayer. Safety is not a privilege for the elites living behind gates. It’s a right for every American, and Chicago’s leftist regime keeps trampling that right day after day.

How many more Sheridan Gormans need to die before the liberals running these cities admit that their ideas are a disaster? Maybe that’s the real crisis—a leadership so divorced from common sense that they can’t even mourn with decency. Sheridan deserved better. Chicago deserves better. The only question left is: How much more carnage will people accept before they throw out this failed, anti-American experiment for good?
