Dysfunction in DC leaves borders at risk while weak Republicans cave and Americans pay the price

There they go again. Washington politicians stumbling over themselves like a pack of lost sheep—except this time, they’re risking the safety of every American. The so-called leaders in the Senate had one job: keep the Department of Homeland Security running. But thanks to political chaos and backroom bickering, they nearly let the agency tasked with protecting our borders grind to a halt.

What happened? Weak Republicans buckled under pressure, hesitated, and wasted precious time. Instead of standing together with a firm plan, they started pointing fingers at each other while the clock ticked toward the longest partial shutdown in U.S. history. The left, meanwhile, watched from the sidelines, pleased to see America’s defenders thrown into disarray. Liberals won’t ever miss a chance to exploit conservative division.

Let’s call this what it is: a disaster fueled by D.C. dysfunction and globalist games. When politicians fight in the marble halls, it’s the hard-working American families out here who pay the price. While elites play political chicken, criminal cartels smile, knowing the border might be left unguarded. The same liberals who say they want “security” are more eager to open the gates to the world than to defend their own country.

And what about conservative values? They’re getting crushed under the boot of spinelessness. Instead of fighting for strong borders, real homeland security, and American jobs, too many Republicans are seduced by the easy road—making deals with Democrats who have zero interest in protecting our way of life. The split among Republicans didn’t just hurt the party; it put every citizen at risk.

People are tired of empty promises. Americans deserve leaders with a backbone, ones who put the safety of our neighborhoods ahead of D.C. headlines. If the politicians in Congress can’t even keep Homeland Security open, what else are they willing to gamble away? Maybe it’s time for the voters to shut down a few careers of their own.
