Macron and Sanchez Suddenly Pretend to Defend Christians Just to Attack Israel

Emmanuel Macron and Pedro Sanchez have never been known for standing up for Christian values. In fact, they spend most of their time trashing traditions and cozying up to the same “woke” causes that undermine Western civilization. But now, like magic, these European leaders suddenly pretend to care about Christianity—just in time to bash Israel.

Let’s get real. The only country in the Middle East where Christians can worship freely—and actually thrive—is Israel. But facts never get in the way of the left’s anti-Israel narrative. Now, as Israel bravely faces a torrent of Iranian missile threats, global elites like Macron and Sanchez decide to vilify the Jewish state over the temporary closure of the Holy Sepulcher. The hypocrisy couldn’t be more obvious.

Why did Israel close religious sites? Not out of cruelty or disrespect. It’s because Iran’s missiles are threatening lives—Jew, Christian, and Muslim alike. The safety of every faith and every family ought to come first. You’d think world leaders would point fingers at Iran and the terrorists, instead of shaming the only country in the region that actually protects religious freedom. But that wouldn’t fit their “progressive” agenda.

Liberals love playing the faith card when it suits them—usually to attack anyone defending security, order, or national sovereignty. They’ll weep for churches in Jerusalem but turn a blind eye when Christians are slaughtered or driven out in Muslim-majority countries all across the region. Where’s the outrage for those Christians, Mr. Macron? Where’s the tough talk about Iran’s missiles, Mr. Sanchez? Silence, because their outrage is selective, their compassion phony.

Here’s the truth: Israel is under attack precisely because it stands for freedom, for democracy, and for the right of every person—including Christians—to live and worship without fear. The shameless leaders of France and Spain would rather score a few cheap points than confront the actual threats to peace. Maybe it’s time they care more about security than political posturing. Or do they only remember to “care” about Christianity when it’s time to bash America’s allies?
