This week, a local LGBTQ bar dared to commission a mural honoring Iryna Zarutska—a young Ukrainian immigrant who was savagely murdered on a light rail train in North Carolina. The response? Outrage from progressives who are frothing at the mouth simply because the victim was a white woman.
Let’s get something straight: Iryna wasn’t some political prop. She was a 23-year-old who escaped war in her country, only to be butchered in a city that was already let down by liberal, soft-on-crime policies. Remember, the murderer had a violent rap sheet and should have been behind bars, but left-wing “reform” let this predator roam free. Now, even a simple mural in her memory has progressives clutching their pearls.
What’s even more pathetic is how the activists immediately made this about race. Instead of mourning a brutal murder, they whined that murals should only exist for Black Lives Matter victims.
