The radicals running the city want to force every building, business, and even private homes to turn off their lights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Forget nightlife, jobs, or basic safety. Evidently, preserving a dark night sky for a few birds is more important than the lives and freedoms of New Yorkers.
It’s not about energy, birds, or light pollution. It’s about control. These Democrats hide behind feel-good slogans about “protecting wildlife” and “saving the planet.” But everyone knows who benefits the most from a city plunged into darkness—criminals and thugs who already roam the streets thanks to these same liberals’ soft-on-crime policies. Who needs streetlights when your buddies at City Hall hand you the keys to the city after midnight? The only thing more dangerous than this blackout scheme is the twisted way the left excuses chaos as “progress.”
The real kicker? The bill wouldn’t kick in until 2028. So much for the phony urgency about saving birds from lights. Their own timeline gives away the scam—it’s just another notch in their long campaign to destroy what made America’s greatest city thrive. These people don’t care about “light pollution.” They want to pollute our freedoms, darken our spirits, and drive out anyone who dares to live life on their own terms.
Of course, the so-called leaders pushing this disaster don’t care. They live in posh high-rises, protected by private security, far away from the average New Yorker just trying to get home safe after a late shift. They’re not suffering. It’s the hard-working men and women, the businesses already pushed to the brink, and the tourists who make the city great—all sacrificed on the altar of the green agenda.
The left used to laugh at North Korea’s dark and dreary skyline. Now they want to turn New York City into the same depressing scene—a prison of their own making. But maybe that’s the point. Democrats hate American success, achievement, and worst of all, freedom. Snuffing out the lights is just the latest step in their ugly crusade against everything this country stands for.
