Sanctuary city tragedy exposes deadly cost of liberal open border policies

A community should never have to come together like this. But over the weekend, hundreds gathered in Yorktown, New York, facing heartbreak and anger. They were there to mourn Sheridan Gorman, an 18-year-old young woman with her whole future ahead of her. She was murdered in Chicago—a so-called “sanctuary city”—by someone who, officials say, had no right to be in this country in the first place.

This is what happens when the radical left turns our laws into a joke and puts the safety of Americans behind their globalist agenda. Sanctuary cities are nothing but open invitations for chaos—criminals stroll in, protected by incompetent politicians who care more about scoring points with activists than protecting families. Sheridan Gorman’s life was taken, allegedly by an illegal alien. How many more Sheridans will there be before liberals wake up?

The people who run these cities have blood on their hands. They throw around soft-hearted slogans about “compassion” and “opportunity,” yet ignore the deadly consequences that come from refusing to enforce our borders. Sanctuary cities invite tragedy. Liberals and globalists hide behind virtue-signaling, leaving regular families to grapple with unthinkable loss. It’s sickening.

Every American should be furious. Politicians who oppose secure borders don’t care about victims like Sheridan Gorman. They will light a candle at a memorial, but never admit their policies are tearing families apart. The hypocrisy of the left is staggering—they shed crocodile tears for victims while doubling down on policies that put American lives in danger.

It’s time to say enough is enough. How many law-abiding citizens have to pay the price for an ideology that rejects common sense and reward lawbreakers? Sheridan Gorman deserved better, and so does every citizen in this country. Who will be the next victim of “compassionate” liberal policies? Will the left ever be brave enough to put Americans first?
