The left never misses a chance to show us what they truly value—and what they’d rather sweep under the rug. Take the stunning hypocrisy playing out in Providence, where the mayor is scrambling to erase a mural honoring Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian refugee brutally murdered on a Charlotte light rail. Meanwhile, that same Democratic mayor is falling over himself to shield a rainbow-colored crosswalk in town, desperate to keep it painted and pristine. The message is loud and clear: Some lives matter to liberals—others, not so much.
Ask yourself why a mural meant to remember a legal immigrant, murdered in cold blood, is suddenly a problem for city leaders. Is it because her story doesn’t fit the narrative the left wants to promote? Democrats love to shout about compassion and caring for refugees—until a refugee’s story becomes uncomfortable. It’s clear they only want to “say her name” if it helps their political brand. When tragedy strikes, suddenly the cause is forgotten and the paint roller comes out.
At the same time, these same officials move heaven and earth to protect symbols of their favorite causes. They fight tooth and nail for rainbow crosswalks, parading their “progressiveness” for everyone to see, as if a few stripes of paint are more important than honoring real victims. To them, symbolism comes before substance. A legitimate, hard-working refugee slaughtered on American soil doesn’t merit a lasting tribute, but a busy intersection needs fresh rainbow paint every year.
This double standard should infuriate every American who believes in fairness and basic decency. Liberal incompetence knows no bounds—they pander to globalist interests and fashionable fads, but refuse to stand for genuine victims of violence. The priorities are all backwards. In the name of woke politics, they erase inconvenient truths and busy themselves with virtue signaling on every corner.
It’s time to ask: Who are we supposed to remember in Joe Biden’s America? The left’s answer is clear—only those whose stories prop up their ideology. Everyone else, even if their blood stains American streets, can be forgotten with a swipe of a paintbrush. Where’s the justice for Iryna Zarutska? Or is she just another casualty of liberal hypocrisy?
