But instead, the radical left swooped in and managed to turn even this into a political circus. The so-called “party of tolerance” can’t seem to handle anything unless it fits their narrow agenda.
Here’s the ugly truth: Democrats are so fixated on their orange-haired boogeyman, Donald Trump, that they’ve lost all common sense. For them, honoring a victim depends on whether it checks their little activist boxes. If tragedy doesn’t fall in line with the latest woke narrative, suddenly it’s up for debate. Remember when compassion was the goal? Not anymore. Now, even paying respects to a victim like Zarutska is seen as controversial if the political winds don’t blow just right.
Providence’s leftists have really outdone themselves this time. Instead of coming together for a good cause, they chose to attack, nitpick, and launch a woke witch-hunt. It’s open season for anyone who thinks differently. The club’s good intentions didn’t matter—because in Democrat-run cities, good deeds quickly get sacrificed on the altar of identity politics. These liberals claim to fight intolerance, but they are quick to unleash it on their own when it’s convenient.
The double standards could not be more clear. If the mural fit a progressive media narrative, it would have been praised from the rooftops. But because it didn’t pass their purity test, the left turned on each other like hungry wolves. This is what happens when a party worships political correctness above humanity. Democrats love to preach about acceptance, but don’t dare go against their groupthink.
At the end of the day, Democrats in Providence have shown their true colors: divisive, intolerant, and completely incapable of putting basic decency ahead of their endless virtue-signaling. Liberals used to say politics should never interfere with doing what’s right—but apparently, those days are long gone. Is there anything left that these woke crusaders won’t try to ruin?
