This week, the United States took a significant step to combat the growing horrors unleashed upon Christians in Nigeria. The State Department, with the backing of Senator Rubio, announced that it would deny visas to Nigerians involved in the brutal violence against Christians. Now, that’s the kind of leadership we need—a robust move to stand up for religious freedom and protect innocent lives.
Why has it taken so long for such action? As we’ve seen, egregious acts of violence have been a blight on Nigeria, with many Christians suffering. Yet, the world’s so-called humanitarian champions have been deafeningly silent. We’ve watched as the left, with their endless virtue signaling, ignored this crisis because it doesn’t fit their narrative. They’re all talk when it comes to tolerance, but when Christians are targeted, they shrug and look the other way.
For too long, bureaucrats and globalist elites have turned a blind eye to Christians being targeted overseas. It’s as if standing up for Christianity isn’t fashionable enough for their cocktail parties. Well, America doesn’t need a globalist nod of approval to do the right thing. The Biden administration should follow suit and impose even stricter measures, pressuring other governments to protect their citizens—especially when those citizens hold Christian beliefs.
This move raises another important question: why stop here? Visa restrictions are a beginning. America has long been a beacon of freedom, not just for itself but for every believer. If the U.S. Government doesn’t protect Christians, who will? Where’s the UN, where’s the Left’s moral compass now? It’s time that they show the same fury they reserve for climate change activism, towards genuine human rights violations.
Americans should demand more action and less lip service. Stopping visas is an effective start, but we must push for broader accountability. So, what are those, who preach tolerance and inclusiveness every election cycle, going to do now? Or will they just keep selling empty promises? Christians around the world are watching. America needs to answer the call.
