There’s something refreshingly simple about protecting American lives from the poison of illegal drugs shipped into our country. The recent poll shows that a whopping majority of Americans support taking decisive action against these drug-trafficking vessels. It’s a clear message: Americans want action, not just talk. Republicans, Independents, and even many Democrats are on board with striking these dangerous boats, even if it upsets a few squeamish lawmakers who have never had to make a life-or-death decision.
Yet, it’s no surprise that the left is up in arms over this operation. A sector of Democrats is calling these necessary actions “war crimes” and “murder,” even when evidence shows those targeted were hardly innocent. They were in the middle of communicating with their ruthless network, trying to carry on their deadly business. Admiral Frank Bradley and War Secretary Pete Hegseth stepped up to the plate to explain the realities of such operations. It’s not a high-brow debate about cocktail party etiquette; it’s about keeping lethal narcotics off American streets.
Some Democrats conveniently forget their own history on military strikes. The “double-tap” approach wasn’t invented yesterday; previous administrations used it, including their beloved Obama. Highlighting the hypocrisy, Obama authorized strikes early in his presidency that resulted in civilian casualties—an inconvenient truth the Democrats would rather sweep under the rug while they clutch their pearls at the Trump administration’s actions.
At what point do we realize that the so-called outrage from the left is nothing more than selective outrage? It’s not about saving lives or upholding morality; it’s about attacking anything associated with Trump, even if it means siding with drug traffickers over law-abiding Americans. They scream and shout because they can’t stand to see any success on the part of conservative policies.
Isn’t it time we ask how deep this anti-American sentiment runs? Who benefits from ignoring the threat posed by these drug-trafficking networks? Certainly not the families who lose loved ones to the narcotics spilling onto our shores. It’s time to stop coddling those who choose to make America less safe. The real question is, when will the left stop playing politics with American lives?
