Once again, the so-called “mainstream media” is trying to pull the wool over the eyes of hard-working Americans. A local news outlet is attempting to paint a rosy picture of Somali immigrants as economic saviors in the state of Minnesota. But, like clockwork, social media users ripped this narrative to shreds by merely doing some basic math.
Reportedly, Somali immigrants generate a hefty income and pay millions in taxes every year. This sounds nice, but dig a little deeper, and the reality is not quite the American Dream these outlets want us to believe. While the pro-open border media touts their $67 million in tax contributions, they’re suspiciously silent on the staggering $1 billion state fraud scandal heavily tied to this very community. Clearly, liberal media has no issue bending the truth when it suits them.
Numbers don’t lie. There’s a 58% poverty rate among Somalis in Minnesota, close to half rely on food stamps, and unemployment hovers at a shocking 40%. These statistics make Minnesota look bad – and their desire to cover this up is plain embarrassing.
A little perspective: if each Somali in Minnesota is kicking in around $800 in taxes per year, that’s peanuts compared to the $8,000 to $10,000 other Minnesotans pay. Where’s the fairness in that? The double standard is crystal clear. And what about the billions sent in remittances back to Somalia instead of circulated here in America? This isn’t contribution – it’s economic leakage.
It’s high time we pull back the curtain and expose the woolly thinking liberals use to manipulate reality. This isn’t about being anti-immigrant; it’s about truth and facts. Demanding real numbers and accountability isn’t xenophobia. It’s common sense. Why is it so hard for liberal interests to grasp that?
