Joy Reid is at it again, playing the ultimate Grinch, and this time she’s going after an American classic. Yes, the beloved holiday song “Jingle Bells.” Reid and her circle of perpetual offense just can’t seem to let people enjoy Christmas without pulling the race card. This isn’t surprising coming from someone who has previously equated the word “illegal” with the N-word. She even compared President Trump to Hitler—just another day in Reid’s mind, where everything has a sinister undertone.
So, what kind of lunacy is Reid pushing now? She’s claiming that “Jingle Bells” was meant to mock black people because it was written by a Confederate soldier. Never mind that it was originally a Thanksgiving song. What Reid conveniently overlooks is her own hypocrisy and absurdity. Does she actually believe that singing a holiday tune toted as a hallmark of joyous festivities is a rallying cry for bigotry?
One school in New York even decided to ban “Jingle Bells” from its Christmas concert after Reid’s video went viral. This is what happens when left-wing agendas seep into our schools; children lose out on the simple joys of the Christmas holiday. It’s a sad state of affairs when one person’s misguided views can influence an entire educational institution.
Liberals, with Reid as their spokesperson, want to cancel everything that doesn’t fit their warped worldview. First, they went after statues, then Thanksgiving, and now, Christmas songs. What’s next on their chopping block? Any expressions of American culture that don’t align with their progressive narrative. Reid and her ilk continue to spew their anti-American rhetoric, always seeking to sow division and discord.
What Reid seems to overlook, or perhaps doesn’t care to understand, is that Americans love their traditions. Whether it’s roasting chestnuts, singing carols, or gathering with family, these are the customs that bring people together. Yet, in Reid’s distorted reality, everything is problematic unless it fits what she deems acceptable.
True Americans need to reject this insanity outright. Are we really going to let the Reids of the world dictate our holiday playlists? It’s time to drown out the noise of perpetual offense and enjoy the season for what it is—a time of unity, joy, and genuine American spirit. After all, isn’t it more racist to presume that everyone must view the world through the same gloomy, toxic lens that she does?
