In the latest shocking development from Brown University, another tragic event is unfolding, exposing the deep-seated issues plaguing our liberal institutions today. Over the weekend, a shooter opened fire during a final exams review, resulting in the deaths of two promising young Americans and injuring nine others. Yet again, we see the failure of liberal strongholds to ensure the safety of their citizens.
Let’s talk about what’s really at play here. The FBI is hot on the trail of a suspect. With and vague images captured on camera, they’re calling this individual “unknown.” It’s telling—our crime-ridden universities, swimming in progressive policies, seem incapable of maintaining a semblance of security. Instead, they’re busy indoctrinating students with divisive identity politics.
The suspect, described by physical traits without a name, remains elusive, while authorities scramble for leads. There’s a deadly weapon involved—apparently a 9mm handgun. Yet, it’s not the weapon’s fault; it’s the criminals and those who failed to act on the very real issues at hand. Liberal policies continue to make campuses unsafe while eroding our Second Amendment rights, and it’s the innocent who pay the price.
Adding insult to injury, one of the individuals tragically killed was a bright, young conservative student leader, a vice president of the university’s Republican Club. A stark reminder of how we, as conservatives, often stand out in hostile territories. Her death, along with another student with incredible potential, speaks volumes about the chaos in these environments.
Now, officials are engaged in interviews and busywork, trying to pick up the pieces. But where are the preemptive actions? How do we prevent further tragedies like this when our institutions fail to protect those who dare to think differently? Will anyone in power step up, or will they continue to sidestep the real issues with bureaucratic double-talk?
