Canada’s Olympic Shame: Another Scandal, Same Old Excuses
Here we go again. The so-called “nice” neighbors to the North have landed themselves in a hot mess at the Winter Olympics. Canada’s men’s curling team is now facing not one, but two accusations of cheating. First, it was Sweden pointing fingers. Now, Switzerland’s calling foul. When you can’t make it through the round robin without two separate cheating claims, something is rotten in the state of global sports.
But let’s not pretend this is isolated. We’ve seen this play out before—liberal-run countries putting on their friendly faces, waving flags, and acting holier-than-thou, but when the pressure’s on, suddenly the rulebook is just for appearances. No wonder global elites keep handing out medals to whoever toes the woke line, not whoever actually works the hardest.
The mainstream media will bend over backwards to defend the Canadians. They’ll whine that it’s just a misunderstanding, or say that everyone makes mistakes. But where were those excuses when an American team gets accused of something? Suddenly, every camera is zoomed in, every commentator is clutching pearls, and every left-wing pundit is calling it the end of sportsmanship. The hypocrisy is as clear as the Olympic flame.
Keep in mind, curling is one of those sports where honor and honesty actually mean something. Or at least they used to. Now, with these luxury-obsessed athletes backed by woke governments, we see a pattern: If you get caught, deny, deny, deny. Blame the system or—better yet—claim the real problem is “unfair targeting.” It’s a worn-out playbook, and frankly, people are sick of it.
If the Olympics are supposed to stand for unity and fair play, why do we keep letting globalist countries get away with these embarrassing scandals? America gets criticized for everything, but Canada cheats twice in the same week and they get a pat on the back. Maybe it’s time for the world to wake up, start calling out the hypocrisy, and stop letting bad actors skate by on a smile and a maple leaf. Is this the “progress” the left keeps bragging about—or just another ugly example of their two-faced standards?
