California has turned into a circus of bad ideas, and the people picking up the tab are everyday Americans. Thanks to left-wing politicians who worship at the altar of so-called “green” policies, almost half of California’s gasoline isn’t even produced in the United States—it’s shipped in from the Bahamas. Yes, you read that right. In an insane twist, the richest state in the richest nation on earth can’t even produce its own oil anymore.
Refinery after refinery is shutting down, thanks to impossible regulations and an arrogant war on fossil fuels. Add a mountain of red tape from no new pipelines, and it’s no wonder the state is forced to buy from foreign markets. Liberals love to brag about protecting the environment, but in reality, their policies just kill American jobs and hand power to other countries. How does it make sense to shut down American energy, only to burn more fuel shipping oil ten times farther?
It gets worse. Because of something called the Jones Act—yet another bloated federal regulation—California can’t even get oil shipped on American vessels. So instead of American workers making a living, those profits head straight overseas. Politicians whine about helping working families, then sabotage energy security with this kind of lunacy.
Behind all the feel-good slogans, these Democrats are bowing down to globalist interests and radical green activists who couldn’t care less about the middle class. While elites in Sacramento sip their lattes and pat themselves on the back, ordinary Californians are getting hammered by sky-high prices at the pump. Talk about hypocrisy. Liberals claim they care about the poor, but their “solutions” only make life harder.
This isn’t leadership—it’s sabotage. America should never be dependent on foreign oil, especially not when we have the resources right here. Why is California sending billions overseas when it could create good jobs and boost the economy at home? Maybe it’s time the left stopped pretending and admitted the real cost of their environmental virtue-signaling.
