Something ugly is happening in America, and the left refuses to face it. This week, a Republican candidate and his family came under fire—literally—when bullets tore into their home in Mecklenburg County. Aaron Marin, running for the Board of Commissioners, was with his loved ones when someone decided that political disagreement wasn’t enough—they wanted to scare, silence, or maybe even hurt a conservative family. The shots weren’t random. Marin made it clear that whoever pulled the trigger singled out his house. That should send chills down the spine of every freedom-loving American.
But don’t expect liberals to say much about it. They love to scream about “threats to democracy” every time their own side feels uncomfortable, but when it’s a conservative family facing open violence, there’s only silence. Or worse, excuses. If the political shoe were on the other foot, you’d see non-stop coverage on every major network, endless handwringing from Democrat leaders, and hashtags flying across social media. But because Marin stood for the values Americans care about—family, liberty, hard work—he and his children become targets for intimidation.
Liberal policies have unleashed this chaos. The leftists running our cities have been more concerned with protecting criminals’ feelings than victims’ rights. They push soft-on-crime policies in the name of “equity,” and regular folks pay the price. Mecklenburg County is not immune—these anti-American laws and attitudes invite lawlessness and embolden dangerous people. Globalist elites, meanwhile, hide behind their walls and private security, while hardworking families are left vulnerable.
Where’s the outrage? The gun-control crowd will probably use this as another excuse to push failed restrictions, instead of going after the real cause: hatred and division stoked by radical ideologies. Conservative Americans shouldn’t have to live in fear for supporting the Constitution. It’s not “progressive” to stay silent when your opponents are threatened. It’s cowardly.
If the left is really concerned about hate, why aren’t they standing with Marin’s family tonight? Or are Republican lives worth less in their woke moral calculus? Maybe Democrats should spend less time telling the rest of us how to live, and a little more time standing up for justice and law and order—instead of enabling chaos on America’s streets.
