The so-called “leaders” of Washington, D.C. are begging for help cleaning their own filth—literally. After years of virtue-signaling about climate change, “environmental justice,” and “protecting the planet,” suddenly the Democratic Mayor is panicking and running to the federal government for help. Why? Because they let hundreds of millions of gallons of human waste spill into the Potomac River. You read that right. The leftists in charge can’t even keep their own pipes from bursting, but want to lecture Americans about clean water and carbon footprints.
A sewer pipe collapsed in Maryland, and for days, the Potomac was flooded with disgusting sewage. Sure, the pipe carried waste from Maryland and Virginia, but it’s D.C.’s precious river now stinking for all the world to smell. And what does Mayor Bowser do? No accountability, no plan—just asks the feds to swoop in and clean up the mess. Now Democrats claim they need FEMA, the Army Corps of Engineers, and a mountain of taxpayer money to save their city from their own basic incompetence.
Here’s the kicker: these are the same politicians who shut down entire economies over so-called “health emergencies,” who demand more and more of your paycheck to fight their imaginary eco “crises.” Yet when there’s a real disaster—raw sewage in their own backyard—they’re helpless! Where are all the radical environmentalists now? Too busy gluing themselves to the street and demanding “net zero” to actually keep the water clean.
The hypocrisy couldn’t be stronger. D.C.’s government is faster to push for open borders and foreign giveaways than to protect American families from literal toxic waste in their neighborhoods. Instead of recognizing decades of failed priorities and crumbling infrastructure, Democrats blame others and demand a handout. President Trump, true to form, called them out and offered real leadership: move fast, clean up, or get out of the way. No wonder the left is desperate to silence him—he exposes their clown show every time.
Let’s face it. If Democrats can’t handle their own sewer pipes, why trust them to run the country, the economy, or even a lemonade stand? Maybe before mocking American energy and water, D.C. should stop turning the Potomac into an open toilet. Is this what “progress” looks like in the nation’s capital?
