There’s a new trick up the Democrats’ sleeve: drag Jesus into every debate when it serves their radical agenda. This week, James Talarico tried cozying up to the left’s favorite late-night show, waving his Bible around as if it were a DNC campaign sign. The message was clear: Jesus wants bigger government, open borders, and abortion on demand. If it wasn’t so laughable, it would be outrageous.
Liberal politicians act as if Scripture is a buffet. When it comes to abortion, transgender ideology, or dumping trillions into welfare programs, suddenly the words of Christ are everywhere—twisted, cherry-picked, and thrown in the faces of everyday Americans who actually know what faith means. But suggest that the Bible supports traditional marriage, protecting innocent life, or personal responsibility? The Left cries “Christian nationalism” and tries to silence anyone who points out the obvious truth.
Let’s be clear: Christianity has always stood for helping the poor, but through love, charity, and community—not mandates and government handouts. Churches in America have built hospitals, soup kitchens, schools, and groups helping refugees for centuries. And no matter how many times liberals dismiss people of faith as bigots, Christians still give more to charity than self-righteous secular progressives. But that won’t stop Democrats from dragging nuns through courtrooms, trying to force Christian organizations to pay for birth control against their deepest beliefs.
What’s truly offensive is the hypocrisy. Democrats bash Christians as “domestic terrorists” and say faith should have no say in public life—unless, of course, it helps the progressive playbook. Then, suddenly, Bible verses are fair game. These politicians can’t have it both ways. Either religion belongs in the public square, no matter what the Bible says, or it doesn’t. The Left’s real problem? They only want Christianity around when it parrots globalist, anti-American nonsense.
On Ash Wednesday, Christians remember sacrifice and hope beyond this world—something politicians like Talarico seem to forget. The faith of millions of Americans isn’t a campaign prop or a cudgel for socialists to use when it’s convenient. Don’t fall for the act. If Democrats are so eager to use Jesus in their talking points, maybe they should actually listen to what He said. But don’t hold your breath.
