Democrats Throw a Tantrum and Boycott the State of the Union
Once again, the Democrat Party is stomping its feet and running away instead of facing the music. A wave of left-wing lawmakers is planning to boycott President Trump’s State of the Union address. That’s right—America’s so-called leaders would rather skip out on their constitutional duty and throw a protest rally on the National Mall, all because they can’t stand hearing the truth about our nation’s progress.
Instead of showing up to listen like grown-ups, these Democrats are teaming up with outside activists and leftist media mouthpieces for something they’re calling the “People’s State of the Union.” It’s really just a petty sideshow. Their plan? Bash the president, trash his record on the economy, and play the victim card for anyone who lost government jobs or doesn’t like the country’s immigration laws. They trot out sob stories and angry TV hosts, hoping America will forget that it was Democrat lockdowns and open-border policies that wrecked lives in the first place.
The hypocrisy is red hot. When it comes to real leadership, these Democrats are nowhere to be found. But when it’s time to score cheap shots and stage walkouts, they’re front and center, whining about “fascism” and pretending Trump is some kind of threat to democracy. Maybe if they actually listened to the president’s speech, they’d see record job growth, a safer country, and a leader who doesn’t grovel to global elites.
Even some Democrat bosses can’t stomach this childish show. A few House leaders are still planning to attend the speech—at least someone on their side hasn’t totally lost their mind. But too many on the left are running for the exits or lining up at microphones just to call America “broken” and attack anyone who refuses to play along with their victimhood act. Instead of working for American families, they’re working to divide the country and undermine the office of the president.
Maybe the real problem here isn’t the speech—it’s that Democrats are terrified Americans will hear the truth about President Trump’s successes. When did listening to the State of the Union become an act of courage? In the America-first era, it’s only those with something to hide who desperately avoid the spotlight. The real question: If liberal lawmakers can’t sit through a single night in Congress, how can anyone trust them to lead the greatest country on earth?
