Seattle’s Mayor Is a Woke Joke—And Voters Are the Punchline
Seattle has become the laughingstock of America, and the joke is on its own citizens. The city voted a self-proclaimed socialist barista—Katie Wilson—into the Mayor’s office, and now chaos is the new normal. This isn’t leadership. It’s a sad, expensive circus.
Instead of fighting crime or fixing the ever-growing homeless nightmare, the Mayor has turned the city into a playground for woke experiments. Real crime is ignored. Investigations into Somali fraudsters? Now she wants to label those as “hate crimes.” In other words, criminals get a free pass if their story fits her favorite narrative. The law-abiding pay the price while the real crooks laugh all the way to the bank.
But wait, it gets worse. Rather than fix Seattle’s rotten economy or tackle its rising taxes and empty downtown, Wilson’s “big ideas” are about banning grocery stores from leaving the city. You read that right—her solution for failing downtowns and a collapsing tax base is to force businesses to stay put. Anyone surprised the city is drying up faster than a coffee cup after closing time?
Wilson’s answer to gutted office buildings was more government—she wants to slap new taxes on companies with empty real estate. Punishing businesses because Seattle’s socialist policies made the city unlivable is lunacy. That’s not leadership, that’s an anti-business vendetta.
And when it came time for her first big address… what a disaster. Her staff couldn’t even manage invitations with the right date—must be nice to burn taxpayer money while playing socialist dress-up. On stage, Mayor Wilson fumbled her way through her speech, struggling with basic technology, asking someone in the crowd to move, and admitting she’d never talked for that long. Talk about being out of her league.
Let’s not forget the hypocrisy: This so-called socialist comes from a wealthy background. Her parents, cozy in New York, bankroll her so she can play revolutionary in Seattle. White privilege, anyone? Seems the people who shout about it the loudest are always the ones swimming in it.
Seattle is learning the hard way what socialist “leadership” brings: incompetence, divisiveness, and an unending spiral of decline. Just like New York, the city is stuck on a treadmill of failed progressive policies. You get the government you vote for, and right now, Seattle’s getting exactly what it deserves. Will they wake up before it’s too late—or is this what Democrats mean by “progress”?
