New Yorkers just can’t catch a break under Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the radical socialist who seems determined to run the city into the ground. Now his latest scheme is out for all to see: plug the city’s massive budget hole by bringing down a brand-new state wealth tax. Because, apparently, when you’ve driven business out of town and spent money like water, the only answer is to grab more from hardworking families.
It’s almost comical how these leftists always find someone else’s wallet to raid instead of fixing their own mess. Instead of cutting back on waste, Mamdani wants Albany to do his dirty work—punish the very people who keep the city alive with jobs and investment. If the state says no, guess what? Get ready, because he’ll just jack up property taxes, pushing out even more middle-class homeowners.
Liberals love to talk about fairness, but there’s nothing fair about punishing success and destroying what little hope this city’s got left. Their “solutions” always end with regular Americans paying the price for their fiscal lunacy. And let’s not forget, Mayor Mamdani’s failed policies already have the city teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, yet he acts like taxing more will magically solve everything.
It’s no surprise the so-called experts are sounding the alarm. Even they can see that crushing the most productive New Yorkers with higher taxes will drive out what’s left of the tax base. New York will spiral into a ghost town run by big government bureaucrats and empty promises. The rich will flee, businesses will close, and the average citizen will foot the bill.
With globalist dreams and socialist fantasies, New York’s leadership keeps putting ideology over common sense. They blame everyone but themselves while demanding even more control. How much more of their incompetence and anti-American nonsense are taxpayers willing to take?
At the end of the day, does anyone really believe that more taxes and socialism is the way to save a city on life support?
