The global left loves to preach about human rights and democracy, but when it comes to brutal dictatorships like North Korea, they suddenly fall silent.
Once again, Kim is talking up his economic plans. What’s the reality? North Korea’s economy is a disaster. Years of communist rule have left millions in poverty, while the ruling family lives like kings. But the international elites and liberal media would rather turn a blind eye to starvation than admit socialism fails wherever it’s tried. The world’s progressives love their fancy summits and hollow promises — but where’s the outrage for people suffering under true tyranny?
It’s laughable to watch foreign experts speculate about Kim’s “agenda,” as if he runs some normal government. This is not a democracy. This is not freedom. This is a mafia-state run by fear, propaganda, and prison camps. Yet the United Nations sends diplomats and papers over the horrors, hoping for “dialogue” that never moves the needle. Liberals line up to make excuses, quick to blame America every time North Korea rattles its nuclear sabers, but they never admit that appeasement only makes despots stronger.
Kim’s family has ruled North Korea like a private playground for decades. Anyone who stands in their way vanishes. Re-education camps, executions, total control of information. This is what unchecked power looks like — the exact outcome Big Government socialists everywhere pretend won’t happen in their own countries. They push for more government overreach, more central planning, while ignoring the living nightmare in Pyongyang.
Here’s the truth the left won’t say out loud: North Korea is a warning sign. The more you give up your freedom, the easier it is for tyrants to take everything else. Kim can talk about his “domestic and foreign policy agenda” all day, but North Koreans will pay the price – and the West will keep making the same empty gestures. Isn’t it about time we stop taking cues from soft-on-tyranny liberals and call evil by its name?
