The Democrats just made another head-scratching move straight out of their playbook of losing strategies. Americans got the surprise of the year when they learned who’s delivering the State of the Union response after President Trump speaks on February 24: Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger. That’s right—the party of so-called “diversity and inclusion” is sending out an uninspiring career politician to face off against the real energy of the America First movement. It’s like watching someone try to put out a wildfire with a cup of water.
Instead of putting forward a strong leader to answer President Trump’s message, Democrats picked someone who checks boxes but doesn’t inspire confidence. Do they really think this is who’s going to wow working families, small business owners, or parents fed up with woke classrooms and rampant inflation? All across the country, people see the truth: the left is totally out of touch. Spanberger has made a name for herself with globalist policies and embracing the same tired talking points that put America last. She offers nothing new, just more of the same lectures and empty promises.
It begs the question—what do the Democrats actually stand for, if anything? When crime is climbing, grocery bills are soaring, and our borders look like a revolving door, they trot out another politician whose solutions are all buzzwords and bureaucratic nonsense. Americans want someone who fights for them, not another echo of Washington’s worst ideas. While President Trump will deliver his vision for a strong, free nation, the opposition will send up a spokesperson who might as well be reading from a script written by the D.C. swamp.
Why are liberals always so eager to insult Americans’ intelligence? The Democrat leadership clearly thinks their base will buy anything, no matter how bland or disconnected. They’re betting big on a politician who has no real fight in her—the same kind of leadership that lost them the trust of everyday people years ago. People aren’t rallying for more talking heads and soft speeches—they’re hungry for bold action and real American values.
Republicans couldn’t have asked for a bigger gift. As President Trump takes the stage, he’ll remind everyone why the conservative movement is winning hearts and minds. Meanwhile, Democrats will limp along with the same weak ideas and lifeless leaders. Is this the best they’ve got? Or are they just that desperate?
