The Supreme Court has just handed America’s enemies a victory, and Justice Clarence Thomas is one of the few with the courage to call it out. With a baffling 6-3 decision, the court gutted President Trump’s power to defend our country’s economic interests, stripping the president of critical authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. It’s a slap in the face to those of us who believe in putting America first.
While the majority of justices played lawyerly games with legal language, Justice Thomas saw right through it. He knows that the president needs flexibility and power when dealing with hostile foreign nations and economic threats. But the liberal justices—and those so-called “conservatives” who went along with them—would much rather tie the president’s hands, all to score points with the globalist elite.
Let’s not forget why Trump imposed tariffs in the first place. He put them on countries that take advantage of us, steal our technology, and flood our markets with junk. For too long, America got pushed around while weak politicians from both parties cheered on “free trade” that only benefitted China and their buddies in corporate boardrooms. Trump had the guts to fight back. But the court’s ruling now invites foreign predators to walk all over us—again.
Notice the pattern: every time a strong conservative tries to defend this nation’s interests, liberals and their establishment allies find a way to twist the rules. They love to talk about “precedent” or “checks and balances” when it keeps patriots from protecting America. But when it suits their agenda, they throw the rules out the window. They claim to revere the Constitution—which clearly makes the president our Commander-in-Chief, not some rubber stamp. Yet now, they’re more interested in appeasing the New York Times and Davos crowd than upholding our sovereignty.
Justice Thomas isn’t afraid to stand up and say what everyone else is too timid to admit: this is judicial overreach, pure and simple. The court is meddling where it doesn’t belong, undercutting the presidency, and putting American workers and businesses last. If liberals think surrendering to global powerbrokers is what made this country great, maybe it’s time they try living in the real world instead of their ivory towers. Since when did “America First” become controversial in the United States?
