It’s about time someone in Washington got off their hands and started holding radical school districts accountable. The Justice Department is finally taking a hard look at three Michigan school districts for allegedly pushing woke gender ideology and sexuality propaganda on impressionable kids—sometimes as young as pre-K. For years, leftists in charge of public schools have schemed behind closed doors, sneaking explicit content into classrooms while hoping parents just look the other way. Well, the gig is up.
The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division is now investigating whether these districts—Detroit, Lansing, and Godfrey-Lee—have been pumping sexual orientation and gender identity lessons into required coursework for grades K through 12. They’re also demanding answers about whether parents were even told about these controversial lessons or given a chance to say “No, thanks” and protect their own children. Why should parents be kept in the dark about what their kids are learning? Because the far-left wants to replace the family with the government—simple as that.
Not only that, but there’s scrutiny on whether schools are keeping bathrooms and locker rooms safe for girls by restricting access to biological sex. For too long, Democrats have been ignoring basic science and basic decency, tearing down family values and women’s rights in the name of so-called “inclusivity.” But Americans are finally getting wise to the grift. Title IX was created to prevent discrimination, not to erase the very definition of womanhood or endanger our daughters in private spaces.
Let’s be honest: this was all avoidable if school boards weren’t so eager to please their globalist masters and push every trendy social fad coming out of the universities. When Michigan parents first sounded the alarm about these shady curriculum changes, liberals tried to shut them down, calling them bigots and extremists. Now the truth is out for all to see. Even decent lawmakers in Lansing—those who actually listen to parents—are fighting back, demanding that no curriculum change happens without the approval of the elected Legislature, not a room full of unelected bureaucrats.
Taxpayer money should not bankroll this nonsense. Parents and families—not distant bureaucrats or radical politicians—deserve the final say in what kids are taught. Maybe if left-wing educators focused more on basics like reading and math, Michigan’s schools wouldn’t be failing the next generation. How much more of this social engineering are we expected to tolerate before the American people finally say “Enough”?
