Detroit liberals are at it again. This time, the so-called “leadership” wants to fire two police officers for the crime of cooperating with ICE. Yes, you read that right. In today’s upside-down America, working with federal law enforcement is apparently a fireable offense—at least if it means standing up to the Democrat love affair with illegal immigration.
These officers did what real Americans expect: they helped our government enforce immigration laws. But in Detroit, that’s seen as betrayal. Sanctuary city policies have become more important than public safety or respecting the law of the land. Instead of rewarding officers for protecting citizens, Detroit wants to show them the door for daring to put American safety over open-borders politics.
Not surprisingly, federal officials are pushing back against this insanity. Even DHS sees through Detroit’s dangerous virtue signaling. Liberals love to talk about justice and fairness, but only when it suits their globalist agenda. When it comes to police backing ICE, suddenly “local control” means limiting safety for law-abiding Americans while bending over backward to shelter illegal immigrants.
The hypocrisy is thick. These city leaders whine about needing more police and claim to care about crime, but the moment cops uphold federal law, they flip. This isn’t just anti-cop, it’s anti-American. No wonder so many cities run by Democrats are a mess. They’re more interested in sending political messages than actually keeping people safe. Their priorities are backward, and honest citizens pay the price.
Who benefits from this kind of madness? Criminals and radical open-borders activists, that’s who. Detroit’s leaders should be thanking these officers, not punishing them. But as usual, the left cares more about signaling their “wokeness” than about protecting their own people. Is it any surprise that normal Americans are fed up with this dangerous game?
