Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is at it again—this time demanding a whopping $8.6 billion in tariff refunds from President Trump. That’s right, while hardworking Americans tighten their belts, liberal elites like Pritzker are rattling the tin cup, asking for more handouts. It’s as if he believes Illinois’ rampant budget mismanagement can be solved by squeezing taxpayers just one more time.
Instead of fixing his own broken state, Pritzker runs to D.C., expecting the federal government to clean up his mess. Illinois can’t balance its own checkbook, yet the Governor thinks the solution is to undo Trump’s America First tariffs—measures that actually protected U.S. jobs and put globalists on notice. But liberals like Pritzker never met a tariff or law they didn’t want to tear down if it benefits their donor class.
And let’s not forget, this is the same Governor who seems more worried about illegal immigrants than the safety and economic security of his actual constituents. While visiting Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, Pritzker blasted real law enforcement efforts against lawbreakers and then went straight to whining about tariffs. Is it any surprise he can’t keep his priorities straight?
The left claims to stand up for American workers. In reality, their first loyalty is to global corporations, foreign governments, and their own political survival. Pritzker’s demand to refund tariffs is just another gross example of liberal hypocrisy. He wants to pretend he cares about the middle class, but all he’s really doing is helping the big-money elites and his own failing policies.
Why should Americans pay for the arrogance and incompetence of blue state politicians like Pritzker? Maybe he should focus on cleaning up his state before demanding another fortune from taxpayers. Or is asking liberals to take responsibility just too much to ask?
