Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s obsession with squeezing more money out of New Yorkers just hit a new low. Not satisfied with sky-high taxes, he now wants to flood the city with an army of lawyers and auditors aimed right at local businesses and even Washington, DC. It’s hard to believe, but the left is now willing to treat the city’s job creators as the enemy – as if choking them with red tape and legal headaches will somehow save the day.
Think about it: instead of creating jobs or cleaning up our streets, City Hall will dump hundreds of new bureaucrats on the payroll. Their job? To dig deeper into the pockets of those who actually fuel the city’s economy. If you run a business in New York, congratulations – you’re now the big, bad wolf in Mamdani’s twisted fairy tale. Meanwhile, normal, hard-working New Yorkers are left footing the bill for all this government expansion and nonsense.
This is how socialism destroys a city. The liberal playbook always promises working people a better life while letting the bureaucrats and paper-pushers bleed the real producers dry. Mamdani and his pals don’t seem to care one bit if their so-called “lawfare” sends business owners packing for Florida or Texas. The more jobs that disappear, the more the left blames someone else. It’s a disastrous cycle that ends with shuttered shops, empty offices, and fresh graffiti lining the streets.
It gets even worse. The mayor isn’t just happy going after local businesses—he’s ready to take on the feds too, turning New York into ground zero for endless legal battles and political games. Instead of focusing on crime, education, or basic services, Mamdani wants taxpayer dollars spent on lawsuits and audits. Who benefits? Certainly not the families struggling to make rent or the cops who can’t get backup on dangerous nights.
This is liberal incompetence at its finest. Forget rebuilding the city after COVID. Forget keeping neighborhoods safe. Let’s just make lawyers rich and New Yorkers miserable. No wonder people are leaving the city in droves. You have to ask: is the real plan to turn New York into a ghost town, or are these leftists just that clueless and out of touch?
