Hochul wants to censor your AI speech but uses it to boost her own image—here’s the truth

It’s no surprise that New York’s liberal leaders are terrified of free speech. Now, Governor Hochul wants to unleash her next attack. She’s making a huge show about cracking down on AI-generated political speech. Apparently, she thinks that only the state—or her campaign—should have the power to shape opinions. If you’re just a regular citizen who wants to use the same tech, watch out. The government wants to control your words.

And here’s the most outrageous part: Hochul loves using AI when it helps boost her own online image. She’s happy to let her team use the latest tools to flood the internet with her own carefully crafted messages. When someone else does the same thing on the other side of the aisle, suddenly it’s a “threat to democracy.” Give us a break. This is typical liberal hypocrisy—one rule for them, and a whole different set for everyone else.

This isn’t just an annoying double standard. Hochul’s crusade is a direct threat to our First Amendment rights. The Constitution doesn’t say you can have free speech unless some Democrat governor is in a panic. It doesn’t give Hochul the power to censor New Yorkers simply because she’s scared of public debate. That’s the thinking you expect from CCP officials, not American leaders who swore to defend our freedoms.

Everyone knows why the left wants this power. It’s about keeping control. If regular people can use AI, the establishment can’t control the message. They can’t shut down dissent as easily. The globalist elites don’t care about protecting you from “misinformation”—they want to protect their own grip on power. Hochul is just the latest puppet in their parade of fear-mongering.

The truth couldn’t be clearer. Political speech is protected, no matter if it’s typed by a person or generated by an algorithm. America didn’t become the freest country on Earth by letting politicians decide who gets to speak. So why should we roll over now just because Hochul is scared her next election might not be a cakewalk? The First Amendment will outlast every one of these phony crackdowns—maybe it’s time our so-called leaders actually read it.
