Portland anarchist faces 20 years after brutal ICE attack stuns nation

Yet again, Portland shows the world what happens when law and order are tossed out the window for the sake of leftist activism. A radical anti-ICE agitator, Robert Jacob Hoopes, now finds himself staring down the barrel of a possible 20-year prison sentence after admitting he violently assaulted a federal immigration officer. This wasn’t just waving a sign or chanting—he actually threw a large rock at a federal agent, leaving the officer seriously hurt.

This is what far-left “protest” looks like in the Pacific Northwest: chaos, violence, and outright contempt for authority. The so-called “activists” claim to fight for justice, but what they really want is anarchy. Over and over, liberal politicians and local officials have coddled these mobs and turned a blind eye, blaming law enforcement for simply doing their jobs. Where’s the outrage from the usual crowd about an actual federal officer being injured? Nowhere to be found.

Americans see right through this double standard. If a conservative dared to attack a federal employee, the media and liberal politicians would scream “domestic terrorism” at the top of their lungs. Instead, the radical left whispers excuses and acts like violence is somehow acceptable if you wear the right costume or shout the right slogans. When will liberals admit their soft-on-crime policies and endless virtue-signaling only embolden these criminals?

Real Americans know our ICE agents are on the front lines daily, trying to keep the country safe from everything the open-borders crowd is desperate to invite in. These men and women deserve nothing less than full support—not rocks to the head and a “thanks for nothing” from the usual suspects running City Hall. There’s no “gray area” here: an assault on law enforcement is an assault on America itself.

This is Portland’s legacy—street violence cheered on by a clueless liberal elite. Maybe 20 years behind bars will finally send the message loud and clear: attack our officers and face real consequences. Or will leftist leaders just find some new excuse for more mayhem? Americans are watching—and getting fed up.
