New York City never misses a chance to twist logic into a pretzel. Just look at what Comrade Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an outspoken member of the Democratic Socialists of America, is cooking up now. The city says you don’t need any ID to walk into a voting booth and decide America’s future. But if you want to do something as basic as handle official business, suddenly you’re hit with a mountain of paperwork and need five forms of identification. That’s right—voting, the very foundation of our republic, is being treated with less care than opening a gym membership.
Liberals like Mamdani love to scream about so-called “voter suppression.” They toss out dramatic claims about marginalized communities being kept from the polls, especially African-Americans. But what they ignore—maybe on purpose—is that almost every other serious thing you do in this country demands some kind of ID. Buying alcohol? Show your ID. Opening a bank account? Same thing. But vote for the people who run your life? Nah, just walk right in. What kind of common sense is that?
It’s almost like the far left wants our election system to be as wide-open and chaotic as possible. Why else are they dead-set on dropping basic security measures? The Democrats pretend it’s about fairness, but it’s really about control. Globalist elites and socialists would rather let anyone—citizens, non-citizens, you name it—cast a ballot, as long as it helps their agenda. Meanwhile, hardworking Americans have to jump through flaming hoops just to prove they’re who they say they are in almost every other area of life.
The hypocrisy couldn’t be clearer. When it comes to their pet projects, liberals demand a pile of paperwork. But the minute it’s about something as vital as voting, suddenly paperwork is evil and racist. It’s not incompetence—it’s a strategy. They know that weaker rules make it easier to manipulate the system. They don’t trust honest voters to pick their leaders, so they rig the process with double standards.
America deserves better. Voting should be sacred, not a free-for-all. If you need ID for a fishing license, you should need one to vote. So why are left-wing politicians so afraid of real accountability? Maybe they’re worried that a secure system would finally expose just how flimsy their power really is.
