California’s Democrat darling, Gavin Newsom, is once again showing how out of touch the left really is. This time, he tried to win over a black audience by claiming he was “just like them”—because he struggles with a mental disorder. Yes, you read that right. Newsom thinks his supposed personal struggles put him on the same level as an entire community. Only in the twisted world of liberal identity politics does this kind of absurd comparison even make sense.
This isn’t just embarrassing. It’s insulting, tone-deaf, and flat-out ridiculous. Liberals like Newsom are so desperate to drum up support outside their coastal bubbles they’ll say anything, no matter how ignorant. Instead of offering real solutions to real problems, Gavin wants to compare his privileged issues to the struggles of minorities. Apparently, being a wealthy, white, career politician just isn’t relatable enough, so he decides to claim victimhood as a way in.
Americans are fed up with these sick political games. The left loves to shove diversity and “lived experience” into every conversation, but when it really comes down to it, they just make fools of themselves. Does Newsom seriously think suffering from a mental disorder means his life is comparable to the daily realities faced by black Americans? Guess what: nobody’s buying it except his own cultish base.
This is the same kind of cluelessness that’s destroying once-great cities in California. Liberals run around patting themselves on the back for being “allies” while crime skyrockets, homelessness spreads, and taxes squeeze out anyone who dares to work hard. Instead of hard answers, we get soft, cringe-worthy pandering. Newsom should be ashamed. If he truly cared about anyone but himself, maybe he’d focus on fixing the mess he’s made back home instead of playing identity politics on the road.
At some point, people need to stop pretending this is normal. It’s not. If this is what the Democrats call leadership—comparing actual communities to their own personal problems to score points—America is in for a rough ride. When will voters realize that the only thing liberals really care about is their own power? The joke’s on us if we keep letting these clowns run the circus.
