Liberals in Maryland are at it again, using “gun safety” as their tired excuse to strip away more rights from good Americans. Democrats in the state legislature want to shake up the so-called handgun roster board, supposedly to make it work better. But if you dig past the fancy talk about “structure” and “guidance,” it’s as clear as day that their only goal is to make it even harder for regular citizens to buy a gun.
Let’s be honest. The board already exists just to control which handguns Marylanders can own, a total government power grab. Now, these leftist politicians want to make the process even fussier—more rules, more waiting, more red tape. They’re promising this will somehow make everyone safer. What a joke. So-called “safety testing” is nothing more than a disguise. It’s a way to sell gun control as common sense. Meanwhile, real criminals skip all this nonsense and get their weapons on the street just like always.
The truth stings: about 95% of the guns put in front of this board already pass their precious safety tests. That isn’t a loophole; it means most guns work just like they’re supposed to. But these Democrats can’t stand that. So, they’re gearing up to change the rules until popular firearms start getting rejected—fewer options, less freedom, more state control. It’s the classic liberal playbook. Pretend to “fix” something that isn’t broken, then blame gun owners for problems the government created in the first place.
Just look at the disaster happening in California. The gun roster there has turned into a nightmare for citizens, who now have fewer and fewer choices. No surprise—violent crime just keeps getting worse in those left-wing utopias. Laws like these don’t stop dangerous thugs. They only punish the law-abiding and keep hardworking Americans from protecting themselves and their families. But when has common sense ever stopped a Democrat from grandstanding?
How many more hoops will state politicians force the people to jump through before they admit the truth? These anti-gun stunts aren’t about safety—they’re about control. Maryland voters deserve better than to watch their freedoms whittled away in the name of “public health.” At what point do we call out the hypocrisy and demand our rights back?
