Gavin Newsom is working overtime to prove he’s the most out-of-touch governor in America. California’s top Democrat thought he’d score points by cozying up to black voters in Georgia, bragging about his lousy SAT score and mumbling something about not being able to read. If that’s his idea of “relating,” he might want to check if he’s reading the same playbook as the rest of America—or reading at all.
But don’t expect Newsom to apologize or take responsibility. When called out for his tone-deaf, racially insensitive mess, did he show remorse? Not a chance. Instead, he threw a tantrum and cursed at critics, claiming the outrage was “fake.” That’s classic leftist denial—always playing the victim, never admitting fault, and expecting everyone else to look the other way.
Meanwhile, the same folks screaming about “equity” and “justice” just hand-wave away Newsom’s antics like it’s no big deal. The double standards are staggering. Remember, these liberals lose their minds when a conservative misspeaks. But when Newsom exposes his own incompetence and ignorance, suddenly it’s everyone else’s problem. If a Republican had uttered half of what Newsom did, the media would be smearing it wall-to-wall for weeks.
Let’s talk about the facts Newsom tries so hard to ignore. California’s reading scores, especially for minority students, are embarrassingly low. Mississippi—the state liberals love to mock—now boasts black students who are more likely to be proficient readers than their peers in Newsom’s California. Mississippi’s governor had to remind him that maybe, just maybe, leadership is about results, not excuses and four-letter words.
Newsom could have owned up to his mistake, focused on fixing California’s failing schools, or just kept quiet for once. Instead, he doubled down—cursing at his critics, dragging in unrelated nonsense, and making it clear he cares more about protecting his image than helping the people he claims to serve. That’s the modern Democrat for you: always ready to pander, never ready to deliver.
This is the leadership California has to offer? Maybe it’s time someone taught Newsom that “equity” and “justice” start with competence—not vulgar rants on social media. With friends like him, America’s future readers are in big trouble.
