The writing is on the wall for Tony Gonzales, and at this point, you’d need to be blind—or willfully ignorant—not to see it. When a politician’s private affairs spill into the open, and damning evidence backs up the rumors, that’s bad enough. But when that same politician dodges real issues like border security and caves to the globalist agenda, it’s time for Republicans to wake up and clean house.
Gonzales’s recent denial of his affair might sound bold, but anyone can talk tough when they’re cornered. The ugly truth is out there for all to see: not only have text messages confirmed what the media tried to cover up, but the fallout has devastated lives. Yet Gonzales continues to act like he’s the victim, throwing accusations of blackmail instead of taking responsibility for a scandal that has everyone shaking their heads. The whole story stinks of typical D.C. elitist behavior—rules for thee, not for me.
Let’s not forget that Gonzales was already on thin ice with conservatives before this mess even hit the headlines. He barely squeaked past his MAGA challenger Brandon Herrera last time—by a few hundred votes. This year, he’s staring down the barrel of almost certain defeat, and even Donald Trump’s endorsement is hanging by a thread. Trump has shown time and again he won’t stand for backstabbers or America Last Republicans. If Greg Casar, another Texas politician, can get tossed overboard for going against the base, why not Gonzales?
Gonzales’s voting record proves his loyalties lie with the open-borders crowd, not with grassroots Republicans. NumbersUSA called him one of Texas’s worst on immigration—he’s barely better than John Cornyn, the poster boy for GOP surrender monkeys. Pro-America groups are done cutting deals with weak-kneed politicians. They want warriors, not careerists worried about cocktail parties with the donor class.
Now, even members of his own party are telling Gonzales to throw in the towel. New faces like Brandon Gill, who actually fights for the people, are stepping up and making it clear: Gonzales is dead weight. The party money’s dried up, key endorsements are flocking to Herrera, and every day that Gonzales stays in the race is another day Republicans look like fools.
If Gonzales had any self-respect—or even a shred of genuine conservative backbone—he’d end this embarrassing charade today. He won’t win, he doesn’t deserve to win, and hardworking Texans have had enough of fake Republicans standing in the way of real change. How many more scandals will it take for the establishment to realize America First is here to stay?
